Radio and TV personality George Quaye has been appointed as the new Public Relations Officer by Ghanaian gold dealership firm, MenzGold Ghana Limited.
His appointment comes at a time when MenzGold is said to be having issues with the Central bank.
Reports tis week revealed that, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 issued a public notice that it is in discussions with relevant regulatory authorities to sanction Menzgold Company Limited for engaging in “solicitation, receipt of money or investment and the payment of dividends or returns to its clients” without a licence to do so.
Another report also said the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has invited the CEO of Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah over the operations of the gold investment company. A claim Nana Appiah has debunked calling it false because he was yet to receive any letter from EOCO.
George Quaye’s appointment which was disclosed on Thursday is promised to help structure and steer the communication affairs as well as implement measures for the leading Gold firm though the position is yet to be made official.
Mr Quaye was heard executing his first official duty for the gold dealing firm on Accra-based Joy FM when the station was discussing the issues surrounding Bank of Ghana and MenzGold Ghana Wednesday, reports say but the PRO of Charterhouse Ghana Limited – the organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards is yet to announce his new offer.
At the moment, yes,” when asked if he is still with Charterhouse Ghana Limited.
His appointment at MenzGold will either terminate the appointment of the current PRO of MenzGold, musician Becca, or they will be working together for better communication affairs.
