According to Ghanaian musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley, rapper Okyeame Kwame is yet to prove significant identity in music.
Mr. Ambulley who revealed the creativeness of the rapper didn’t hesitate to mention that although Okyeame Kwame is a good a musician and good at what he does, he still needs to get an identity.
“Okyeame Kwame is good but he needs to have an identity that will set him apart because as it stands now he has no identity”.
“As things stand now, I can say that Okyeame Kwame needs an identity”
The veteran musician who touts himself as the originator of rap music in Ghana said that the current King of rap among the contemporary rappers, Sarkodie was a good rapper but his music was short of international standards to help his music thrive abroad.
Gyedu-Blay Ambolley added that even if the rapper got the chance to perform abroad, he would only be performing in front of Ghanaians who live in the diaspora and understand the language used in the music.
He made these assertions on Wednesday, 5th July during an interview on Rhythms with Berla Mundi on GhOne TV.
