It’s The Lion King season and Ghanaian dancehall ‘king’ Shatta Wale is the talk in town after being listed on a Beyonce album.
Shatta Wale has been featured on Beyoncé’s album for the remake of the Lion King movie and he has given details relating to the collaboration in a new interview but one thing is clear, Shatta Wale is no longer friends with Ghana’s Artiste of the Decade –Sarkodie.
Beyoncé curated two albums featuring international artistes for the Lion King movie which are called Spirit and The Gift. It is on The Gift album which will be released on Friday, July 19, 2019, which has Beyoncé featuring Shatta Wale on a song titled Already.
Shatta Wale received a lot of congratulatory messages privately and most of these messages we can count on social media but his selective responses to some of these messages online begs several questions.
Tuesday, July 16, 2019 could be discribed as a Shatta Wale day. But amid his efforts to respond to his well wishers after the big announcement, he left out Sarkodie’s tweet and this has fans and well wishes of both artistes reading meanings into it.
The ‘bleeding’ rapper in his message to Shatta Wale said:
“Welcome home Queen @Beyonce officially, Big Shouts @shattawalegh! And All all our brothers and sisters on there… Big One for the culture”
But Shatta Wale has revealed he doesn’t need a hypocrite like Sarkodie to congratulate him on any day.
“Sarkodie is a hypocrite. He’s always acting big-big for nothing. I don’t mingle with people like that in my life,” he said.
“He didn’t congratulate me on my last achievement so why now? His tweet didn’t mean well. He was the one taking pictures with every celebrity and acting all is well, why didn’t Beyonce feature him? He mentioned Beyonce as if he knew her. Beyonce doesn’t know Sarkodie. I don’t need him to congratulate me,” Shatta Wale added.
Shatta Wale further noted that Stonebwoy’s congratulatory message was the highest of all the messages he received.
“Look at what Stonebwoy tweeted. That’s genuine happiness for a brother and that’s what the industry needs not someone who claims to have higher standards but we don’t see anything”.
“Sarkodie advised me, he should advise himself,” Shatta Wale wrapped.
He was speaking in an Interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM Wednesday, July 17.
