A return of John Dramani Mahama as President will see the sacking of the top brass of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and other such institutions, the aide to the Mr Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari has hinted.
According to her, it would not matter the number of years such people might have worked at their respective institutions but if they are found to be New Patriotic Party (NPP) people, they would be made to go.
The former Deputy Minister of Transport made the statement while reacting to news of the resignation Second Deputy Governor of the BoG, Dr Johnson Asiama, who, reports suggest, was forced out.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile, former President Mahama’s warned that those who might take the position should remember their day of reckoning will come and will equally be asked to leave if they were to return to power.
Former President Mahama is yet to officially declare his intention to contest in the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer race but his aide’s statement should give a slight hint of plans in their camp.
Mr Mahama himself has been very busy attending NDC-related events recently in what looks like an attempt to mop up support for his possible candidacy.
