President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in relation to ongoing investigations into corruption allegations leveled against him.
Mr Nyantakyi arrived in the country today from CAF assignments in Morocco and Egypt and went to the CID Headquarters in Accra following a report made by President Nana Akufo-Addo that the GFA boss used his name and office fraudulently.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo watched just five minutes of the over two-hour video of investigative journalists Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 undercover documentary. The revelations from the undercover work on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) led the President to report Nyantakyi on Tuesday, 22 May.
Addressing the press on the issue, Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor, indicated that President Nana Akufo-Addo is focused on tackling corruption and every individual found guilty in the documentary, will face the law.
Meanwhile, the police have assured the public that due processes would be followed in the investigation.
