At a brief ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Republic of Ghana and the Kingdom of Morocco reaffirmed their commitment to deepening relations by exchanging documents of ratification for the Agreement to Avoid Double Taxation.
The Republic of Ghana was represented by Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong (MP), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, while the Kingdom of Morocco was represented by H.E. Imane Ouaadil, Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana.
In her remarks, Ambassador Imane Ouaadil noted that the ceremony signified an important milestone in the trade and economic relations between Ghana and Morocco. She added that the Agreement will pave way for greater collaboration between Ghanaian and Moroccan investors. On his part, Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong noted that, Morocco has remained an important partner to Ghana since the country’s independence. He indicated that the cooperation between the two countries cuts across trade, education, and agriculture among others.
Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong further assured of Ghana’s readiness to enhance the already existing good relations with the Kingdom of Morocco through open dialogue and cooperation.
