Fuse ODG, the Ghanaian-English musician has disclosed that when he got to the United Kingdom he realized the perception about Africa was so bad that he tried to disassociate himself from the African race.
As he grew older he realized he was born an African and should embrace his roots instead of trying to shy away from his identity.
Speaking to UK National TV, Channel4, Fuse ODG revealed that he has grown out of the “perception Africa is inferior” and other Africans to should embrace their nationalities and not run from their unique culture.
“It’s funny, how much I have grown out of the perception Africa is inferior. When I got to the UK, I realized that the perception of Africa was very negative. It was so intense that as I was growing up, I did everything that would make fit into the British lifestyle.”
“But as I grew older, I got to understand who I’m supposed to be. So I’m on a mission to change that perception. I want young black people to be proud of who they are.”
“Now things are changing, people are now embracing who they are and it’s a good thing,” he said.

We need more of us fighting for Africa coz the motherland is the future. Can’t wait for you all to hear my new album coz we diving right in!! Raaaa,” a post on his social media reads.
He encouraged Africans to fight for Africa because the motherland is their future.
Fuse ODG has also hinted the release of his new album.
