Maturity is the ability to think, speak and act your feelings within the bounds of dignity. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the midst of your frustrations. Again, Maturity is the ability to reap without apology and not complain when things don’t go well.
The story of who is the best dancehall artiste, the richest, the artiste with loads of money and swag, best music and music videos and who is finest will continue to be the talk in our small corners but think of who’s matured enough, well, Shatta Wale will always prove that amid his rants and teases and unnecessary jabs, he’s still the go-to guy when it comes to making up for any mistake of a sort.
Was there even a mistake this time? I doubt! probably, actions speculated by fans!
Dancehall act Shatta Wale revealed via his Facebook page that he might be a surprise act at Stonebwoy’s musical concert dubbed ‘Ashaiman to the World’ and he didn’t disappoint fans when he graced the evening with his Militants last Saturday, September 30 at Saka Saka Park in Accra.
His action comes at the point when various stakeholders in music are calling for unity among Ghanaian acts. We’ve heard the likes of Hi-life act Bisa Kdei, Hip-Life grandpapa Reggie Rockstone, Sarkodie among others.
The local industry is at an urgent point of need as pundits regularly compare Ghanaian acts to neighbouring country’s Nigerian acts where artistes are being painted colourfully sending a positive message to the world that musicians out there in Nigeria are very united and supportive of each other. Although Wizkid and Davido have been rumoured to kick-starting a mini beef, the two acts don’t really tarnish the rosy picture painted in the minds of Ghanaians.
Maturity is that time when the mirrors in our mind turn to windows and instead of seeing the reflection of ourselves we see others. It is obvious Stonebwoy wasn’t expecting Shatta’s appearance until he finally stormed the venue to prove his love for him at the well-attended concert.
Shatta Wale has on several occasions rubbished claims that there’s a rivalry between them adding that Stonebwoy has always been his ‘younger’ brother although fans continue to bridge the gap between them socially.
Their joint performance at the just ended concert left a room for fans of both artistes giving them a gist of their love for the Ashaiman ‘city’.
Treating fans with hit songs ‘Kill ‘Em With Prayers, Ayoo and others, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy gave the crowd a good run for their time spent throughout the evening.
‘Ashaiman To The World’ concert was also supported by several artistes including LilWin, Kumi Guitar, Joyce Blessing, Kofi Kinaata, Becca, Obibinii, King Promise, Fancy Gadam, Patapaa, Teephlow, Kurl Songx, and many others.
