Let’s take a quick stop at the best new sounds you’ve been looking for this week as we head to East, West and Southern Africa.
Mr. Pride – Longtime Feat. Mr. Moi
After a brief hiatus from the music scene, the Pride of Africa, Mr. Pride revives himself with a new Afrobeat single dubbed “Longtime” and this time, unlike his previous record which featured Selebobo, Mr. Pride collaborates with Mr. Moi.
The song talks about love laying emphasis on how far a lover can go for his/her love. Blending both the Nigerian Igbo dialect and English, “Longtime” makes good use of great vocal dexterity from the two acts leaving you a soothing listening peace. King Kaka – Mama Feat. Third Hand Music
Kenyan Hip-hop artist King Kaka recently released a new record which he dedicated to his mother. The song titled “Mama” features fast-rising Kenyan music trio Third Hand Musi. With a well vested poetic flow, King Kaka narrated his childhood story and the resilience of his mum amid the challenges.

Ajo – Transcend
Breaking grounds with his new album titled “African Reality”, Kenya artist Ajo made his presence felt on several playlists. With a divided section of “African Reality,” the album’s first part initially addressed ‘Africa from the moment of colonialism’ while its second part tackles ‘Reality; from an African lifestyle after colonialism’ apart which is also a more personal section of the Album for Ajo.
With visuals based on an African theme, the first single off the album “Transcend” has been released with a video and it features snippets of speeches sampled from Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and South Africa’s best man Nelson Mandela.

King Promise – Oh Yeah (Remix) Feat. Mr. Eazi
Budding Ghanaian talent King Promise released the much-talked-about single “Oh Yeah” some months ago. The same song gave him the spotlight with best new sounds coming from Ghana.
Giving us a bit of what the journey has been so far, King Promise adds a distinct voice to his hit Afrobeat record giving listeners a different vibe with a touch of Mr. Eazi.

Rayvanny – Unaibiwa
This past weekend, Tanzania’s Rayvanny was featured on the first episode of Coke Studio Africa -2017 which premiered in Kenya (10th September). Collaborating with Angola’s Dji Tafinha, they worked on a fun Coke Studio Africa Throwback track titled “Chuta”. It’s a new week and Rayvanny drops a fresh single titled “Unaibiwa.”
