Anthony Onome Unuode, the young protester who got stabbed during the Abuja protest against SARS on Saturday has been reported dead.
He died on Sunday morning after battling for his life.
Tony as he’s affectionately called was rushed to the hospital after he fell victim to the brutal attacks meted on peaceful protesters by thugs who were deemed to have been sponsored by the Nigerian government to disperse protesters, in Kubwa Abuja.
The thugs sent to disrupt the protest stabbed him multiple times leading to his untimely death.
He died living his footprints as a key member of the #ENDSARS protest and has since received admiration for his efforts to end police brutality in the West African country.

“To My Generation of NIGERIANS. I LOVE YOU and you have earned MY MAXIMUM and most GENUINE respect. The Powers that be are truly against us and doing everything in their power to Stop this Movement. It will get worse but Please LET US NEVER BACK DOWN,” one of Tony’s last messages shared before his death.
Family members who spoke to NetbuzzAfrica.com reveal plans are underway for his burial.
Until his demise, Tony was loved by both his Ghanaian and Nigerian friends and family and he worked briefly with Bet 9ja. Below are some kind words from friends and sympathizers:
