Brad Pitt’s mom Jane Pitt is not pushing him to “stand up” to Angelina Jolie amid their custody negotiations, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this story. We’re told the actor’s mom isn’t meddling in his divorce.
According to the Australian magazine NW, Pitt’s mother was “horrified” to learn that her son supposedly has to jump through hoops to see his six kids. The unreliable outlet also says that Jane doesn’t think her son is assertive enough when it comes to dealing with his estranged wife. “Brad’s tendency is to mope,” says a supposed source. “He usually ends up giving in, but Jane is having none of that and doesn’t want him to end up with nothing in the divorce because he’s a pushover.”
The outlet’s questionable insider adds, “He needs to start sticking up for himself a lot more, especially when it comes to Angie… [Jane] hates Brad getting shut out when she knows what a great dad he is.” The alleged tipster concludes, “She thinks Brad has been punished enough and Angelina needs to give him a break and stop torturing him.”
This is all inaccurate. Pitt and Jolie have been working together to resolve the custody issue, but it’s a complicated process. However, the two are staying cordial with each other for the sake of their children. Regardless, Gossip Cop is told by a source close to the situation that Pitt’s mom has no need to step in and urge him to be more forceful. Communication between the estranged spouses has improved over the past year, and Jane has no reason to be “horrified” by the situation.
Earlier this week, Gossip Cop busted NW for publishing a similarly false story about Jolie keeping Pitt away from their kids so that the public wrongly believes he’s an absentee dad. The magazine has also gone out of its way on multiple occasions to make it seem like the actress is a bad mom. But the Australian outlet has zero insight into the ex-couple’s custody arrangement, and this latest bogus article is further proof of that.
