Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker for Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Akwasi Adusei wants traditional rulers and opinion leaders not to interfere in the work of Ghana Education Service (GES) within their localities in the wake of sex scandals.

“If two elephants fight it the grass that suffers. What is happening in the Ejisuman Senior High School and other areas involving teachers and students are having a negative toll on academics”, he stated.

According to him, allegations that some teachers in the school are engaged in an amorous sexual relationship with their students could be affecting academic work negatively though GES is yet to launch a full-scale investigation into those allegations.

“The physiological implications on the students are imaginable. And we need to psyche them “, Hon. Akwasi Adusei one time tutor of Tepa Senior High School pointed out on Nhyira FM’s morning show.

Female Students of the school are calling on the necessary Ministries and agencies to as a matter of urgency to save them from sexual abuse and harassment from some male teachers and non–teaching staff of the school.

A final year student of the school who spoke on a local radio station, on condition of strict anonymity confirmed that most of the teachers constantly harass them for sex in exchange for school fees or grades.

However, the Governing Board of the School has profusely denied that teachers in the school are sexually involved with the students accusing the Nkosuohene of Ejisu, Nana Kofi Poku, of waging a campaign to damage the image of the school.

The Chief has however threatened to leak sex tapes involving some of the teachers if they dare him insisting they are taking undue advantage of the poor students to satisfy their unbridled sexual libido.
