On Tuesday morning, July 16, 2019, Beyoncé released the track list for her curated Lion King companion album, titled The Lion King: The Gift.
The movie’s official soundtrack could only pull Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Elton John, and the cast of the movie, but The Gift gets Beyoncé adding Ghanaian talent Shatta Wale while a host of Nigerian musicians including Tekno, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, and Burna Boy were featured.
Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Tierra Whack, and Blue Ivy, who continues to outsell her younger siblings have also been listed.

“This is sonic cinema,” Beyoncé said in the statement announcing the new album. “This is a new experience of storytelling. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.” The Gift is out this Friday, July 19.
