Ghanaian Radio and TV personality, Caroline Sampson has finally revealed how her working relationship with YFM, the subsidiary of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company came to an end after a decade of service.
Caroline on May 8th tweeted that she was axed from Y107.9FM with immediate effect.
According to her, when she received a call from Human Resource, she thought that in the worst case, she would be asked to take a slash in salary but unfortunately it was the end of the journey for her and the Accra-based radio station.
Narrating her story via a video on her YouTube channel, Caroline said “I understand it perfectly,” indicating she holds no grudges against her former bosses for axing her from the company.
Speaking on her next move, she disclosed that she had been receiving offers even before news of her contract termination was served her.
“I have businesses on the side. I’m okay. It’s not that bad. I’ll still survive because I have other things I’m into even if I don’t return to radio,” she said, stressing that her love and passion for radio is fervently active.
Before joining the YFM, Caroline worked with GTV and also Atlantis radio station in Accra. She hosted two daily drive-time shows, Continuous Drive and Mellow Cruise.
Sampson joined Citi FM and hosted three daily shows: Room 973, Rhythms in the Citi and Citi Countdown. After two years with Citi FM, Sampson joined YFM Ghana as a presenter for the weekly show, ‘Shout on Y’.
Caroline Sampson joins Joel, Agnes Ntow, Dj Snoop, Blaque Boy, and Ms. Naa as they’ve also departed.
