Arguably the biggest music festival in Ghana, the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) will once again recognize and reward the hard work of artistes in the continent.
The main event slated to come off on April 14 this year at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), the spot for all the yaah-nay-and boo chants come Saturday on the slated date. Followed by an after-event celebration at Tema, Saturday, April 28.
Ahead of the main event, a nominees jam is also slated to come off this year at Cape Cost on Saturday, March 24.
This year proves a point in the growth of the Ghanaian music awards scheme as dancehall artiste Shatta Wale makes a grand return to the VGMAs.
While Shatta Wale battles for Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the Year award with Stonebwoy, Ebony (late) and MzVee, rapper Sarkodie, fast-rising acts Teephlow and Kumi Guitar among others have all booked their slots on their 19th edition of the VGMAs nominees list.
