Six people have been confirmed dead with 18 others sustaining varying degrees of injuries when the Hyundai vehicle they were travelling in collided with a Sprinter Bus at Dominase Junction on the Accra-Cape Coast road Saturday.
Some two other vehicles including a taxi were also involved in the crash.
A fire officer Ackummey Elorm who confirmed the incident to Joy News’ Richard Kojo Nyarko suspects the accident may have been caused by over speeding.
Eyewitnesses say the Hyundai vehicle with registration number, GX 2894-17 attempted to overtake a trailer before running into the oncoming sprinter. The other vehicles then rammed into each other.
At least five persons died on the spot, with the sixth person died later at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist hospital.
The deceased persons include four women and two men.
Some of the injured persons are believed to be in critical condition are now receiving treatment at the Specialist hospital.
