Ghanaian Celebrity and lifestyle blogger, Ameyaw Debrah has still not recovered from his epic visit to Accra Marriott Hotel after a long day’s work. He sights the Marriott brand in West Africa as a peace haven and a getaway for many business executives looking to spend quality time.
The African Hospitality Limited owned space is set in the heart of Airport City, a burgeoning urban development. The Accra Marriott Hotel is just a few kilometres outside of the central business district providing easy access to major corporate businesses, government entities and well-known city landmarks.
Just a stone throw away from the Kotota International Airport, Accra Marriott Hotel has 208 well-appointed rooms, 3 enticing dining venues, 800 square meters of meeting space, a pool and a fully equipped fitness centre. The hotel offers state-of-the-art business facilities.
According to Ameyaw Debrah who was part of the Pivot Executive Hosting celebrities, “The hotel staffs were always smiling and ready to assist. I took my welcome drink and headed to my room on the third floor, where I saw the full majestic view of the pool from the glass walls.”

Phew, what a hectic week the past one has been. With so much work to be done at the office before going on our short Christmas break, we were also faced with several events to attend and cover!!! Yes, this is usually how my Christmas goes! But this year, I decided to do something a little different! I checked in to the Accra Marriott Hotel, few minutes away from the Kotoka International Airport, on Friday to relax ahead the real Christmas festivities next week.
Also, because of the location of the hotel, I thought it would be a good point to move from when going to the many events I planned attending that weekend. But after checking in to the Marriott for my ‘staycation’, all of those plans got cancelled!
Yes, the Accra Marriott hotel has the great settings and features for a perfect vacation from the hustle and bustle of city life, in spite of its location at the heart of the city!
I checked in around 4.30pm on Friday and I felt the warm welcome right from the moment I entered hotel. The hotel staffs were always smiling and ready to assist. I took my welcome drink and headed to my room on the third floor, where I saw the full majestic view of the pool from the glass walls.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness centre; but sadly I didn’t use either during my ‘staycation’. The hotel also has a bar where guests can have a drink of their choice and a garden, which was holding a high profile wedding the day of my checking out (I am not telling who though!)
My accommodation came with essentials including Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the hotel, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. In-room technology power packs including HDMI direct connect plugs are available by the in room desk. My room offered my a city view.
I immediately went to work on some pending jobs I had to do, and then had my shower. I particularly enjoyed the revitalizing coconut products in the bathroom; from the shampoo to the body wash and bar soap. Coconut oil is used in many natural beauty products, and for good reason: It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils. Well, I smelled like cookies after using the Coco Luxe body lotion.
After the shower, I started the other key highlight from my stay at the Marriott…yes, the food. Dinner on Friday came with a seafood-theme! I enjoyed everything I picked onto my plate, from the salads to the seafood jollof; my palate was flooded with flavours.
I still managed to find some space for a bowl of fish light soup and mpotompoto (yam porridge). There was plenty dessert options. And I enjoyed it although I was super full and couldn’t each much.
With a full belly, I cancelled all my planned outings for Friday night to rather stay indoors and work. And after calling my wife, who couldn’t join my for my ‘staycation’, I jumped into the comfortable bed to have a velvety sleep!
I went downstairs in the morning for the buffet breakfast. And just like dinner from the previous evening, I enjoyed it! My omelet was just the way I like it, tasty with the right amount of salt in it. After breakfast, I went back to my room to enjoy the last few hours of my stay, and yes… to do some work as well.I invited my brother to join me for lunch before checking out finally. Like dinner, and breakfast, the lunch buffet was equally scrumptious. The only difference was that I couldn’t eat much because the breakfast from earlier had me really full. But my brother dug in deep! After lunch, I left the hotel feeling well rested to take on the Christmas holidays. So let’s see how it goes this Christmas. Happy Holidays
