Fancy Gadam won the Song of the Year and the Hiplife song of the Year awards with ‘Total Cheat’ at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and upon his arrival, he was given a rousing welcome yesterday by the chiefs and people of Tamale.
He was followed by an excited Gadam Nation crowd from the Tamale Airport through the principal streets of the town, in celebration of his awards at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Fancy who also visited the chiefs and elders of Tamale tweeted a photo revealed that the chiefs had told him they also voted for him to win his awards.
“Tamale Gukpenaa and Tamale Dakpema! Two great Kings in our kingdom told me they personally voted for us to win!” he posted.
Although he equally deserved his awards, his Song of the Year award has raised controversies among some people who think Patapaa ‘One Corner’ best deserved the slot.
Patapaa has said that he believes Fancy Gadam may have bribed the organisers of the VGMA to win the Song of the Year award but to him all hope is not lost as he is ready to work even harder.
