Emmanuel Tagoe hailed as ‘Game Boy’ managed to stopped Argentina’s Fernando Saucedo to retain the IBO Lightweight title in a controversial decision on Saturday, 27 January, 2018 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The referee, Roger Barnor, stopped the bout in the 10th round after Saucedo hit the canvass from punches to the back of his head which is illegal in boxing. However, the referee stopped the bout and awarded the technical knockout victory to Emmanuel Tagoe.Saucedo visited the canvass twice in the second round but complained a lot in the match that Tagoe was throwing illegal punches to the back of his neck.
