Kwita Izina 2018: Akon, Obasanjo attend gorilla naming ceremony in RwandaSenegalese-born yankee popstar Akon, Nigeria’s former president Olusegun Obasanjo and South Africa’s former 1st girl Graca Machel are among the status celebrities which will participate in Rwanda’s annual Gorilla naming ceremony.

The Gorilla naming ceremony, popularly called Kwita Izina, is unionised by Rwanda Development Board (RDB), and will be held Friday in Kinigi, at the foothills of the Volcanoes National park.

23 status personalities as well as representatives from English club side, Arsenal, were disclosed by RDB on weekday. They’re going to be naming twenty-three gorillas born in 2017.

Mountain gorillas happen to be one of the world’s most endangered species, that survives on the forest-cloaked volcanoes of Central Africa.

In June, authorities proclaimed that their numbers have inflated by 1 / 4 to over one thousand people since 2010.
