The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako has disclosed that Secretary to President Akufo Addo, Nana Asante Bediatuo and leading member of the party, Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko have asked him to lead them to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu to beg for forgiveness.
This comes after some top executives of the NPP who trooped to the Manhyia Palace to have a word with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II last week, had no choice than to kneel and beg after the angry King asked them to leave his Palace.
The NPP executives were led by acting General Secretary, John Boadu – who was in the region to campaign – Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, party Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, and Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization, Kwabena Senkyire.
The Asantehene was reportedly angry over concerns that some members within the NPP government are attempting to pitch him [Asantehene] against the Ohyehene and Akyems.

Gabby Asare Otchere Darko and the Executive Secretary to the President Asante Bediatuo reportedly have made certain denigrating comments against the Asantehene.
The entourage had to go on their knees to passionately plead with the Asante king and assure him everything possible will be done to ensure that his grievances with the party are addressed.
Speaking on the issue on State of Affairs show on GHOne, Chairman Wontumi as he’s popular known revealed that he’s in the process of booking an appointment for the two to meet the Asantehene
“…From there I called Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko and Nana Asante Bediatuo, they were really surprised. You know, when you call somebody on an issue you’re able to determine that the person has regret or that he’s completely innocent about the issue.
Gabby said Chairman, but you’re always with me in the Office in Accra, you know that I’m a political strategist and I know the Ashanti Region is the NPP’s stronghold, so why can I speak ill of the Otumfuo? If you’ve already apologized, then please book an appointment so I can go to meet the Otumfuo, my Grandfather, Nana Asante Bediatuo also said the same so they can go and apologize to him.”
