Dancehall star Shatta Wale has blamed the Ghana government for its flagship “Year of Return” initiative.
According to the ‘Melissa’ singer, citizens are clueless about the initiative, the rationale behind the campaign and government should be faulted for failing to educate the country.
“We failed to educate the country about this year of return. I don’t see anything going on about this year of return. I feel the government has failed to educate the people” he said in an interview on UTV.
Shatta Wale who wished he was an ambassador for the Year of Return says he is clueless about the initiative and all he knows is that people are coming to Ghana and leaving with no impact.
“I notice that when the people come to Ghana, they only visit the president and the Cape Coast castle,” he adds.
The idea behind the Year of Return hasn’t been explained well enough for Ghanaians to understand and benefit from its opportunities that will increase business for entrepreneurs, Shatta Wale laments.
