Ghanaian singer Tic has revealed that he may sue Nigerian superstar Wizkid for copyright infringement.
According to Tic, formerly Tic Tac, Wizkid who sampled his 2004 hit record song ‘Fefe Ne Efe’ failed to pay him for the copyrights infringement.
Speaking with Andy Dosty, Monday on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz ,Tic revealed that his management is in talks with Wizkid who sampled the chorus of ‘Fefe Ne Efe’ for his verse on DJ Tunez’s song titled ‘Gbese’.
“We’re in talks. As a matter of fact, the lawyers are working on it. There have been some discussions,” he said.
Tic, however, added that Wizkid’s team had made attempts of settling him but the payment was not enough.
“If they don’t pay of course I will sue them. Some figures mentioned but, there are some other things going on,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian superstar Wizkid, has however, made it clear in the past that he sees Tic as an inspiration for his music.

Ghanaian rapper Tic (formerly Tic Tac) and Tony Tetuila have already taken legal action against the Afrobeat star who sampled the chorus of their 2004 hit record “Fefe Ne Fe” in his verse on DJ Tunez’s song titled ‘Gbese’.
Wizkid once revealed that he was inspired by Ghanaian rapper Tic while pursuing his music career as a young boy but it seems Tic will not be lured by this statement as he demands 35% of the Digital Distribution sales revenue or 30 million naira in total damages.
