Tinubu Extends Immigration Boss Kemi Nandap’s Tenure Until 2026
Border Security Boost: NIS Comptroller-General Kemi Nandap Gets Two-Year Extension
President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of the tenure of Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, until December 31, 2026.
The decision, announced on April 1, 2025, extends Nandap’s leadership beyond her initial term, which was set to expire on August 31, 2025.
In a statement, Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted Nandap’s strong leadership and contributions to national security.
“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed significant advancements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security measures,” Onanuga stated.
President Tinubu commended Nandap’s efforts in reforming the NIS, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to strengthening border security and promoting safe, legal, and orderly migration.
