TV3 tries to ‘steal’ GH One TV’s Kemini Amanor but Bola Ray stops the move

We predicted last month about several of EIB Network’s top workers leaving due to several program complications.

It was reported earlier that AJ Sarpong who couldn’t stand the heat left the family to Citi FM and later Naa Ashorkor, followed suit after resuming work from her maternal leave. She faced some issues regarding her show on Starr FM which is being hosted by KOD now and as result of that complication, she left the family to join Multimedia Group.TV3 tries to 'steal' GH One TV's Kemini Amanor but Bola Ray stops the moveAnother issue which bjrlivefm.com clearly sited in our previous article about newscaster Kemini Amanor’s comflicting role with SA-Ghana based Lerato has finally been exposed in the network.

The CEO of EIB Network Nathan Kwabena Adisi aka Bola Ray reportedly moved to stop the newscaster, Kemini Nyammani Amanor with GH One TV, one of the network’s subsidiaries, from leaving the station to TV3 after reports on 3news  suggested that she has pitched camp with Media General.

Kemini Amanor, the anchor for the station’s brunch time news programme, Newsroom, was reported to be leaving for TV3 after her role was occupied by Lerato Letsoso upon returning from her leave. A case similar to that of Naa Ashorkor.

The newscaster who doubles as the producer of her show, gained much recognition after she broke the news about some corruption at the Agriculture Development Bank which ultimately led to the removal of the then Managing Director.

In a last-minute meeting with CEO Bola Ray, the anchor nominated in the Best Television News Anchor in the 2014 RTP Awards Kemini has changed her decision.

Meanwhile, Media General Group, owners of TV3, 3FM among other firms, reported that Kemini has joined their family. Contrary to that report, GH One anchor Kemini Nyammani Amanor will remain at the EIB Network.

Read the full report from 3news below.

“Former GHOne news anchor Kemini Nyammani Amanor has joined the Media General Group. The move forms part of the Group’s quest to become Africa’s leading media conglomerate.

TV3, which is a subsidiary of the Media General Group as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration, is also focused on reshaping news and producing stars to remain Ghana’s Number One private television.

Kemini joins the group with years of experience in news presentation, production and reportage. She comes on board with a lot of expertise, having worked as the lead news anchor on Joy News TV, a presenter on Starr FM and many other radio stations.

She’s well known for her story about the rot at the Agriculture Development Bank which ultimately led to the removal of the then Managing Director. In 2014, she was nominated as the Best Television News Anchor in the RTP Awards as well as the Ghana Television Awards.

Prior to her move, she was the anchor for GHOne’s brunch news Newsroom where she doubles as a producer.

She’s carved a niche for herself in the media landscape with her alluring smile and unique style of on screen presentation.

Kemini joins the Media General Group effective November 1, 2017, as host of TV3’s flagship morning program New Day, and a presenter of news programmes on TV3 and 3FM.

She is a product of St. Mary’s Senior High School in Accra, after which she proceeded to the University of Ghana.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with Geography with a professional certificate in radio and TV broadcasting from RABODEF Radio Academy.

President Akufo-Addo encourages Shatta Wale to continue ‘donating’

Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has finally visited the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after the president invited him to his office via a birthday tweet.

The Flagstaff House is now home to the popular musician.President Akufo-Addo encourages Shatta Wale to continue 'donating'Last month (October, 17, 2017) was not only Shatta Wale’s birthday celebration but also, a month which he had most of his wishes come to true. Before his birthday, the dancehall gem tweeted to alert the President what some of his wishes for the forthcoming birthday was among others.

To crown his wishes and the birth of a new friendship, President Akufo-Addo invited Shatta Wale in a very famous pidgin tweet which saw fans of both leaders craving for more ‘legalization’ of pidgin language in our local schools.

The President in a goodwill message tweeted to Shatta Wale saying:
“Happy birthday @shattawalegh! You for come visit me for Flagstaff House o!” the President tweeted.

In a response to the President’s tweet, Shatta Wale in an appreciative message tweeted:
Thank you, your Excellency. I will follow the necessary procedures and pay a visit soon Mr President. I hope my land cruiser will be ready???? — SHATTA WALE (@shattawalegh) October 17, 2017President Akufo-Addo encourages Shatta Wale to continue 'donating'Meanwhile, the tweet from the President was incredibly reported by BBC in another fashion way, all, adding up to cement another year added to the dancehall act’s life.

Their friendship was finally unveiled to the public when the Shatta Movement leader later composed a new song ‘Rado Rado’ in appreciation for the president’s invitation to the Flagstaff House and then he followed up with a visit.President Akufo-Addo encourages Shatta Wale to continue 'donating'In their conversation upon arriving at the presidency, Nana Kufo-Addo asked how he (Shatta Wale) celebrated his birthday and he replied in the affirmative saying “In my little small way, we tried to organise a few stuff. We donated some books to some schools, I asked Kasapreko for storm energy drink which we took to Nima market”.

“We had a convoy on Friday where we went to town just to celebrate the people who can’t make it to my main birthday party, after that, on Saturday we had a very wonderful party” he added.

Impressed by his submission, President Akufo-Addo encouraged him to continue with his book campaign because it is a solid thing to do adding that, “All through the campaign, you were right there in our face,” he said.

The President couldn’t afford to award Shatta Wale another automobile, maybe because the EIB network has already done that by presenting him with a G-Wagon but in reply to the Shatta Wale’s land cruiser request, the President said: “I don’t have a land cruiser but I have a small momentum from the Presidency.”

Wale, later in anticipation also asked for the President’s blessings when he showed a key that the Mayor of Worcester presented to him.

Naa Ashorkor quits Bola Ray’s EIB network

Naa Ashorkor, the former host of GHone’s Tales from the Powder Room, and the mid-morning show, The Zone on Starr FM has quit her roles for the Media network of the year according to a source close to the presenter.Naa Ashorkor quits Bola Ray's EIB networkThe source adds that her departure was as a result of conflicts of interest to regain her morning show dubbed The Zone on Starr FM which is currently hosted by KOD who was supposed to be sitting in for her while on maternal leave.

Quitting EIB Network was not the end of the road. Naa Ashorkor has been picked by Multimedia group where she can happily and peacefull host her own show(s) in the coming days, the source adds.

Meanwhile, according to EIB network who added a word on the matter, Naa Ashorkor has left the EIB network to pursue other interests.

The managers thanked her for services to the network and wished her well in her future endeavours. Naa Ashorkor was previously on maternity leave, following the birth of her first child with husband Cabutey Adodoadji.

Naa Ashorkor is best known for her role in the Adam’s Apple film series, starring alongside Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, Adjetey Annan and her exit follows that of AJ Sarpong who recently left EIB network to join Citi FM on a similar issue.

The rise of a powerful media network will always have its issues especially when the spot for the limelight is very limited. Bjrlivefm.com checks also reveal that there might be another exit from the company and this time, it could be from the Newsroom where the current newscasters on Ghone Television also seem to be having a challenge with their roles.

The likes of Keminni Amanor who was also on leave had her spot filled by Lerato Letsoso and upon her arrival, it seems all is not well as the presenter appears less often on the channel. Newscaster Abena Owusu Nyamekye seems to be taking over gradually on the Ghone TV news slot.

More to come.

I was inspired by Michael Jackson and Daddy Lumba to bleach – Bukom Banku

Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko, also known as Bukom Banku has said he regrets bleaching.

I was inspired by Michael Jackson and Daddy Lumba to bleach – Bukom Banku

The Bukom-based boxer was seen flaunting his heavily bleached skin some months back. He later confirmed he was using bleaching creams to enhance his outlook.

He was reported to have said in an interview that he was bleaching to become Ghana’s ambassador to Germany.

“I am bleaching myself for German people to know that German people and Bukom Banku are one…. So if you see me now, you will observe that I am from Germany. I want Ghanaians to know that I am a German now,” he said.

After priding himself with the bleaching act for almost four months, he later announced that he had put a stop to the act advising Ghanaians not to follow his mistake but learn from the consequences.

He told Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Wednesday, October 25 that he was inspired by the fairer skin of musicians such as
but has now realized bleaching is not a good thing and regrets it.

“I stopped bleaching long ago. You know Daddy Lumba and Michael Jackson were looking nice and I admired them so I also started bleaching and people started praising me…they called me ‘Banku Fresh’ and the likes and I was happy but after I stopped bleaching the name changed to ‘Banku black, banku dirty’. I now fear Ghanaians because the same people who will praise you are the same people who will turn around and insult you. I want to tell Ghanaians that bleaching is not good even if you give me $10,000.000 million, I won’t bleach,” Bukom told Bola Ray.
