Konadu’s hand squeeze: Rawlings was charitable to Hannah Tetteh – Owusu BempaThe Spokesperson for the National Democratic Party (NDP), Owusu Bempah, aka, Aboa Apapo, says should members and sympathisers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) dare their founder, Jerry John Rawlings, he would expose more of the atrocities they committed when they were in power.

According to him, the impunity exhibited by some party faithful of the NDC reached its crescendo in 2016 to the extent that the wife of former President Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings became the target of the party.

He said the NDP led by Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings during the 2016 electioneering campaign in the Ashanti Region, had wanted to go to Pankrono to talk to the electorates and upon reaching the Kumasi Airport, they made a request for an out-rider to enable them get to their destination on time without going through the heavy traffic jam on the Tafo-Pankrono road.

Such request to the Police, he noted, was denied, leaving them with no option than to go through the traffic jam on the Tafo-Pankrono road.

“When we got to the Kumasi Airport and called one Police Officer to give us an out-rider, one NDC big man picked his phone and called the Flagstaff House to deny us the out-rider. So, we had to drive and go through the heavy traffic jam for about three hours before getting to Pankrono”, he noted.

Such he added, is one in a million of disrespect apparatchiks of the NDC showed the family of the Rawlingses during the 2016 electioneering campaign.

Interacting with Accra-based Okay FM, Monday, over Mr. Rawlings’ outburst on the former Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Serwah Tetteh, Owusu Bempah who is also the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Gas Company Limited said the former President’s rant was apt, daring to expose more of the impunity faithful of the NDC exhibited when they were in power.

Mr. Rawlings addressing some NDC cadres and activists at a Town Hall meeting at the Arts Centre in Accra on Saturday, said he would have grabbed any chance to campaign against Hannah Tetteh who was then contesting the Awutu-Senya West constituency seat on the ticket of the NDC.

According to Mr. Rawlings, the former Foreign Affairs Minister showed disrespect to his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, by squeezing her hand during a handshake at an independence anniversary parade gathering.

Such he noted, is one out of several gross disrespect exhibited by the former Foreign Affairs Minister towards her wife at high profile events. Ever since Mr. Rawlings brought the matter to the fore of the public, he has received some bashing from a cross section of the NDC fraternity.

But Owusu Bempah commenting further on the matter said Mr. Rawlings was more charitable to Hannah Tetteh, promising to expose more of the impunity exhibited by some faithful of the NDC if they dare him.
