During the holiday season, BBnZ Live, in collaboration award-winning Ghanaian artist Kasen Midichi, held a huge exhibition to showcase Midichi’s works that celebrate unsung Ghanaian heroes.

The first of its kind by the entertainment label, the ceremony was also to get people to appreciate and give attention to the art industry.

It was held at the BBnZ Live studios in Accra on December 30 and was attended by a lot of people from different cultural backgrounds.

The members of UK band, The Compozers, Tinchy Stryder, Chaka Bars an Instagram sensation and Fuse ODG’s business partner Andre Hackett were some of the patrons of the exhibition.

Among works showcased were portraits of Professor Allotey, Nii Kwabena Bonnie, Wilheim Amo, Yaa Asantewaa, Sir Edward Asafu-Adjaye, Jacob Wilson-Sey, among others.

Curated for Midichi, Fredrick Elizabeth in an interview with NEWS-ONE was enthusiastic about event, and emphasised the need for more of such events to expose works of artists.

“Midichi and his team, we are approaching the art world in this part of the world as a musician’s career. So he has a series of different shows that he wants to organise on regular basis. We think our next show will probably be in about three months’ time and it will be totally different from this one,” he revealed.

“The event was put together basically to shed more light on Ghanaian heroes that don’t get talked about enough, hence the name unsung heroes. We ate happy to be behind the event and this is the first of many exhibitions we are planning this year,” Alvin Bekoe, CEO of BBnZ Live, also indicated.

Midichi has always found art as the easiest way to express himself. He has been around for four years, and his paintings portray celebrities, public figures and well-known artists – people he thinks made it to the top within their specific field.

But this time, he decided to use his works at the exhibition to celebrate unsung heroes.
